About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver pulled up to Freeman Motor and noticed something odd on the loading dock—a small, rusted toolbox with no name or markings. Curious, he opened it and found an old, well-oiled wrench inside, along with a note scribbled in pencil: ‘Take one tool, leave one memory.’ Over time, more tools appeared—an ancient screwdriver here, a vintage socket set there. Soon enough, every worker had their own little treasure from Freeman Motor. One day, an enthusiastic new hire found an antique jack with a handwritten note: 'If you fix what’s broken today, maybe someone will fix your luck tomorrow.' And so began Freeman Motor's unofficial tradition of goodwill and friendly banter among neighbors.
2. One day, a delivery driver pulled up to Freeman Motor and muttered under his breath, ‘I’ve never seen so many cars with the same exact dent.’ Curious, he circled around each vehicle. Finally, an old man approached him, scratching his head. 'Ah,' he said with a smile, 'you're new here? Everybody gets that same dent from banging into my mailbox.'
3. One night, as a delivery driver pulled into Freeman Motor to drop off parts, he heard an eerie announcement over the loudspeaker: ‘Attention, all mechanics—your lucky number for tonight is thirteen.’ Since then, every mechanic who works late has sworn they see thirteen glowing oil cans dancing on the workshop shelves. Finally, one curious mechanic decided to count the lights himself and found that there were exactly twelve—not thirteen—as one had been hidden behind a toolbox. From then on, whenever someone mentioned the ghostly thirteen oil cans, everyone just laughed and said, 'Ah, must be that old Freeman Motor prank again!'
4. At dawn, when most mechanics were still stretching in their pajamas, an old Ford truck pulled into Freeman Motor. The driver, rubbing sleep from his eyes, glanced around and saw something peculiar: the sign above the entrance now read ‘Open All Night’—even though it had always said ‘Closed Sundays.’ As he parked, a gruff voice called out from inside: 'Hey, you! Last customer of the night!' A bearded mechanic emerged, yawned, stretched, then grinned broadly. 'Welcome to Freeman Motor,' he said, 'where we believe in keeping your wheels turning even after closing time.'
