About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One night, as a regular was loading groceries into his car, he overheard a voice from behind him: ‘You forgot something.’ Turning around, he saw no one but felt an odd presence in the empty aisle. Looking back, he noticed a shopping cart slowly rolling towards him with a bottle of wine poking out. ‘Oh, thanks,’ he said, smiling. The next day, everyone joked that Publix had a secret wine delivery service for loyal customers!’
2. One morning, while stocking shelves, a young employee noticed an odd message on the PA system: ‘Attention shoppers, Publix apologizes for any inconvenience caused by our new self-checkout aisle that makes customers dance.’ Curious, she approached the first self-checkout lane and scanned her items as usual. Suddenly, the screen lit up with a bright red button labeled 'DANCE NOW!' She pressed it without thinking—and immediately found herself in the middle of a lively line-dance routine, complete with hand gestures and footwork. The other customers joined in, laughing and having fun. A regular walked over and said, 'Welcome to Publix, ma’am—now you know why they call us the “dancing supermarket”!'
3. At dawn, when most people were still asleep, a delivery driver pulled up to the back entrance of Publix. As he unloaded crates of fresh produce, he heard a faint voice calling from inside one crate: ‘Please don’t forget me!’ Curious, the driver opened the crate and found nothing but a small note that read: ‘Don’t forget to put me in the salad bar!’ Turns out it was just an onion with a bad sense of humor.
4. At dusk, when most shoppers had left, a delivery driver pulled up to Publix and noticed something peculiar in the parking lot. "Did you see that?" he muttered to himself, pointing towards a shadowy figure. The shadowy figure turned out to be an old man pushing a shopping cart filled with cans of corn. ‘I thought I saw someone,’ chuckled the delivery driver, shaking his head. ‘Nah, must’ve been just another regular from around here.’
