About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dawn, when most barbershops are quiet, Pop’s Barbershop buzzed with an unusual activity. A delivery driver rushed in, frantically asking for help with something strange he'd found on his truck. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a tiny hedgehog that had snuck into the cab. Pop nodded knowingly and said, ‘Ain’t no stranger than strange around here.’ He took care of the spiky visitor while the delivery driver watched, amazed. The little guy soon scurried off, leaving behind only a few quills as souvenirs.
2. One morning, while customers were sipping coffee and reading newspapers, someone asked: ‘Who leaves their bike here every day without even locking it?’ Another customer raised his eyebrows: ‘That’s easy! It’s our friendly neighborhood delivery guy.’ They all laughed, realizing that trusting your bike to a barbershop was probably not such a bad idea after all.
3. Why did that old delivery driver always park his truck in front of Pop’s Barbershop? No one knew for sure, but everyone wondered. Some said he was waiting for a haircut, others thought he delivered packages to the back door. The truth turned out to be much simpler—he just loved standing there and chatting with Pop, our gruff yet friendly barber. Turns out, that old truck was parked there because it was the best spot for catching up on neighborhood gossip.
4. At closing time, when most shops were emptying out, a regular would emerge from Pop’s Barbershop carrying not just his usual bag but also several bottles of mysterious liquor. Turns out, our regular was actually a delivery driver who snuck in some free booze from work. One day, he forgot and brought home a bottle instead of leaving it behind. His wife found him mid-shave, holding a bottle of whiskey and muttering something about ‘the best cut ever.’
