About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, while getting a trim at MJ’s Barbershop, a little boy kept staring at an old clock on the wall. The shopkeeper noticed him fidgeting and asked if everything was okay. ‘It’s just that,’ said the boy, pointing, ‘that clock always seems to be five minutes fast!’ The barber smiled knowingly and replied, 'Ah, sonny, that's because it's an old antique—nevertheless, quite charming!' And with that, he gave the boy a hearty laugh and continued his work, leaving both of them with a warm feeling.
2. A delivery driver pulled up outside MJ's Barbershop one afternoon, completely oblivious to the line of cars waiting behind him. He got out, opened the back door, and started yelling at someone inside—only no one answered. After a moment, the delivery driver looked around, puzzled. Then he noticed an old man standing nearby, holding a newspaper. ‘Excuse me,’ he asked, ‘is anyone here MJ?’ The man nodded towards the shop and muttered, ‘He’s in there, but don’t worry—he always takes his time.’
3. One day after work, a man walked into MJ’s Barbershop and asked curiously, ‘Do you ever get customers who show up with their own barber chairs?’ The barber raised an eyebrow and smiled, ‘Not often, but I’ve seen it before.’ The man then pulled out a small, well-polished chair from his bag and said proudly, ‘I’m here for my monthly trim—this is my special chair!’ MJ shook his head and laughed, ‘Welcome back, neighbor. Just make sure your chair doesn’t block anyone else’s view.’
4. While waiting for his turn at MJ’s Barbershop, an old gentleman noticed something peculiar on the wall above the mirror. Curiously, he asked the barber, ‘Why does that picture keep changing faces every time I look away?’ The barber smiled and replied, ‘Ah, that’s our special photo album. Each frame holds a different customer’s face—captured mid-snore during their shave!’ The old man burst out laughing, realizing why everyone said MJ had the best jokes in town.
