About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a little girl ran into her dad’s Chase branch, pointing excitedly at something on the floor. ‘Daddy,’ she said, ‘why is that coin so big?’ The teller looked down and saw nothing but an ordinary penny. But every now and then, after that day, other children would come in, asking curiously about the giant coin. Soon enough, word spread around town. Every time someone mentioned Chase, people thought of the giant coin. One day, a delivery driver asked the manager if he could take it home as a joke gift for his kids. The manager smiled and replied, 'We’ll keep it here for everyone's enjoyment.' And that's why, even today, whenever you visit Chase, you might just spot that mysteriously large penny—though it's really only a regular old coin.
2. One day, a delivery driver pulled up to Chase's downtown branch. As he unloaded boxes from his truck, he noticed something odd in one of the shopping carts parked nearby—a small, perfectly folded American flag. Curious, he picked it up and saw that someone had meticulously written ‘Happy Independence Day’ on its white stripe with a marker. Smiling, he placed it back and decided to leave it as a surprise for whomever worked inside. Later that evening, a neighbor passing by Chase’s branch saw the flag waving gently in the breeze and exclaimed, 'Someone sure loves our country!' The delivery driver just chuckled, thinking, 'Maybe they do.'
3. At dawn, when most branches were still locking their doors, an old man arrived at Chase with a large cardboard box under his arm. He approached the teller and asked for a deposit slip. The teller raised an eyebrow but gave him one anyway. The old man filled it out meticulously, then opened his box to reveal… pennies. Hundreds of them. With a straight face, he said, ‘I’d like to open a savings account.’ Everyone in line burst into laughter, except for the teller who nodded and replied, ‘Welcome to Chase, sir!’
4. Have you heard about that strange thing happening in front of Chase on Friday evenings? Every week, right after closing, a neighbor stops by with a basket full of freshly baked cookies and leaves them on the doorstep. Some say it's his way of saying thanks for noticing his new bike parked outside. Others whisper it’s because he knows everyone inside works too hard. But no one really knows why, except maybe our friendly neighborhood delivery driver.
