About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a little boy walked into Brakes Plus while his dad was getting tires checked. The mechanic, adjusting something under the hood, suddenly started humming an old folk song. The kid’s eyes widened as he watched the mechanic’s wrenches and tools seemingly dancing in rhythm with the tune. The next thing anyone knew, the whole garage was filled with the sound of that same old song—every tool joining in! Even the delivery driver waiting outside whistled along. When everything finally stopped, the mechanic smiled and said, ‘That’s how I know it’s done right.’
2. A delivery driver pulled up to Brakes Plus one afternoon with a worried look on his face. ‘Hey,’ he asked the mechanic, ‘do you guys ever see ghostly figures in here?’ The mechanic smiled and nodded knowingly. 'Oh yeah,' he said, 'we've seen plenty of them.' A few minutes later, an old lady walked into the shop, holding her purse tightly. She looked around suspiciously before whispering, 'Did anyone else just see that ghostly figure behind the counter?' The delivery driver burst out laughing, realizing it was just their friendly neighborhood accountant who never left.
3. In the dead of night, a neighborhood cat began making strange noises outside Brakes Plus. Employees soon learned it was their new midnight mechanic, fixing cars faster than anyone during the day. One night, a delivery driver came in with a dented fender. The next morning, he found it polished and painted like new. When asked, the midnight mechanic meowed proudly from under the hood. Turns out, she also had excellent taste in tires.
4. In the middle of a routine oil change, a regular’s dog started barking uncontrollably. The mechanic looked around puzzled until he noticed something odd on the workshop floor. Turns out, someone had accidentally dropped an old key fob for an electric fence. The dog must’ve triggered it every time he walked past, thinking it was a command from his owner. After a few confused moments and some quick thinking, the mechanic disconnected the device, and everyone went home happy—except maybe the dog, who probably thought he’d been abandoned.
