About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At night, when Big O Tires closed its doors, a strange humming sound would occasionally echo through the empty streets. A delivery driver noticed it first, pulling up late one evening after hours. Curious, he parked his truck and approached the sound. Soon enough, he saw an old tire slowly rolling out of the shop, glowing faintly in the moonlight. The delivery driver laughed, realizing it was just an old tire that had been left on display too long—until he heard another one chiming in from inside the building. Turning around, he found himself face-to-face with a group of smiling neighbors who’d come over for a midnight tire concert.
2. At closing time, an old man walked into Big O Tires and asked the manager, ‘Why do you always leave one tire unboxed?’ The manager shrugged, smiling. 'That's our lucky tire,' he said. 'Keeps away bad luck.' The old man nodded wisely, then left. A few days later, a delivery driver noticed the same tire was still unboxed. He joked, 'Maybe I should take it home for good luck!' A neighbor overheard him and replied, 'Better not—we already have one.'
3. At closing time, a deep voice came over Big O Tires’ intercom: ‘Last chance for new tires—just one more set!’ A puzzled delivery driver walked up to the counter next morning and asked, 'Did you really sell your last tire last night?' The owner smiled and replied, 'No, it was just our nightly announcement—we always keep at least one spare tire around here!'
4. At closing time, a little dog started running around Big O Tires' parking lot, barking excitedly at something invisible. Suddenly, an old man appeared from behind one of the tires, waving cheerfully and saying, ‘That’s my secret stash of bones!’ The little dog stopped barking immediately, realizing it was just another adventure with his friend. Everyone laughed, and life in the parking lot returned to normal.
