About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. A regular patient complained to Dr. Staith one morning: ‘Doc, every time I come here, my wait feels like forever!’ With a twinkle in his eye, Dr. Staith replied, ‘That’s because you’re always here at the busiest time of day.’ Soon after, an irate delivery driver stormed into the surgery, fuming: ‘Doc, why did it take so long for you to see me?!’ Dr. Staith smiled and said, ‘Because you were the first person here today.’
2. At dawn, when most people were still dreaming, a delivery driver pulled up outside Staith Surgery with an unusual package. The receptionist raised an eyebrow as he said, 'This is for Doctor Staith—better keep it away from the coffee machine.' The receptionist took the package and whispered to herself, ‘Doctor Staith’s morning tea must be getting pretty special.’ She carefully placed it on her desk and went off for her break. Later that day, while everyone was busy, a regular patient noticed the package and asked curiously, ‘What’s that?’ With a straight face, Doctor Staith replied, ‘Oh, just my new coffee maker. It arrived early today.’ Everyone laughed, including the doctor who knew perfectly well it was actually a cake.’
3. A neighbor walked their dog past the surgery each morning at precisely seven. One day, the dog started barking furiously whenever they approached the entrance. Curious, the neighbor peered inside and saw a delivery driver frantically waving from behind the counter. Turns out, he was trying to signal that the surgery’s waiting room had suddenly filled with pigeons. Everyone burst into laughter when the doctor finally managed to shoo them away—except for the poor dog, who kept growling suspiciously at the ceiling.
4. Have you heard? Every Monday morning, right on the dot of eight o’clock, a mysterious figure starts humming an old tune while waiting outside Staith Surgery. One Monday, a delivery driver arrived just as the humming started. Thinking it was part of their route, they joined in with an off-key version of ‘Yankee Doodle’. The mysterious figure smiled and sang along, creating such a racket that patients inside thought someone had left the door open. Turns out, it was simply two friends enjoying a weekly serenade.
