About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At night, when the streets were quiet, a young boy named Max would visit Larwood & Kennedy Veterinary Centre with his family's dog. One evening, as they approached the clinic, Max noticed something peculiar: every time they passed, the lights in one of the examination rooms flickered on and off by themselves. One night, an exhausted delivery driver dozed off outside the clinic, leaning against his truck. Suddenly, he heard a soft whimpering sound coming from inside. Curious, he peeked through the window and saw Max whispering comfortingly into the empty room, ‘It’s okay, old friend—we’ll be here soon.’
2. Late one afternoon, a delivery driver pulled up outside the vet's office with a frazzled look on his face. As he unloaded crates of medicine from his truck, he noticed something odd: an old photograph taped to the door. It showed two smiling dogs, their names written in faded ink—Larwood and Kennedy. Curious, he leaned closer and read aloud, ‘Larwood and Kennedy’—as if these dogs were partners in some secret mission. Just then, another neighbor popped out and said, “Oh, you’re here for the new shipment? Better hurry, Larwood’s been waiting impatiently since breakfast!” The delivery driver shook his head, smiled, and thought to himself, “Next time I’ll know better than to deliver dog meds without coffee.”
3. Early in the morning, before the sun had fully risen, a delivery driver pulled up outside the vet’s office with a package so heavy he struggled to carry it inside. As he entered, the receptionist asked curiously, ‘What on earth is that?’ The driver grinned sheepishly and replied, ‘Just another big doggy bundle.’ Turns out it was just an oversized teddy bear for one of the staff's kids. Everyone laughed, and the day began with a smile.
4. One foggy morning, as Dr. Larwood was preparing for surgery, she heard a voice whispering from behind her: ‘Don’t forget to check the patient’s paws.’ Curious, she turned around—but there was no one there. Suddenly, an old man in a tweed jacket appeared out of nowhere and said, 'And don’t miss their left hind paw—it always needs extra attention!' Startled, Dr. Larwood looked down just in time to see a tiny paw print on her scrubs. She laughed, realizing it was just another friendly reminder from the mysterious voice. From then on, whenever someone mentioned the clinic, people would say, “Oh, that place with the talking paws!”
