About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dawn one morning, when Hawkins Barbershop should’ve been quiet, a delivery driver pulled up with an unusual package. The barbers exchanged curious glances as he walked in, muttering something about ‘special instructions.’ The package was wrapped in old newspaper and sealed with wax. Curious, one of the barbers cut it open—revealing nothing but a small wooden box filled with ancient coins. They spent the rest of the day debating their value while their regulars waited patiently outside. Turned out to be just an antique collector’s prank, but everyone had a good laugh.
2. One day after work, a regular walked into Hawkins Barbershop and asked curiously, ‘Do you ever get customers who show up without an appointment but know exactly what they want?’ The barber raised an eyebrow and replied, 'Oh yeah, happens all the time.' The man smiled confidently and said, 'Then give me that number two fade you've done for Mr. Johnson last week!' As it turned out, he was just the delivery driver.
3. One afternoon, while Hawkins Barbershop was closing early due to rain, an old man approached the door and called out, 'Hey, does anyone here know how to fix a leaky faucet?' The barber looked up from his clippers with a puzzled expression. ‘I’m sorry, sir,’ he said, ‘but I only cut hair.’ Just then, another customer—a delivery driver—leaned over and whispered, ‘Try next door, they’ve got a plumber there.’ The old man nodded gratefully and shuffled off. As the shop closed for the day, the barber turned to his helper and grinned, ‘Guess we’ll be fixing haircuts until further notice!’
4. At dusk, when Hawkins Barbershop was nearly empty, a small dog ran in through the open door. The barber looked up, surprised, but the little pooch ignored him completely. Instead, it trotted over to the mirror and began barking at its reflection. The barber shook his head with a smile, then reached for a comb from behind the counter. He gently approached the mirror, and as he did, the dog stopped barking and sat down obediently next to its reflection. With a laugh, the barber said, ‘Same old tricks, huh?’
