About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning at Walgreens, an elderly gentleman approached the counter and asked the pharmacist with a twinkle in his eye, 'Do you have any special elixir for forgetting where I parked?' The pharmacist smiled and replied, ‘Sir, we have something called “memory recall” on our app.’ The old man nodded knowingly, then turned around and walked out, muttering under his breath, ‘That’ll be next time, young’un!’ A few minutes later, a delivery driver joked, ‘I saw him—he’s still searching for that parking spot!’
2. In the late afternoon, a little boy walked into Walgreens with his grandmother. As they approached the checkout counter, he suddenly pointed excitedly at something on the shelf behind the cashier. "Grandma, look! It's talking to me!" she laughed it off, but when she turned around, there was just an ordinary bottle of cough syrup. Just then, a delivery driver came in and overheard their conversation. He leaned against the counter and asked curiously, 'Did you hear that too?' They all looked at each other, puzzled, until finally the pharmacist smiled and said gently, “It’s probably just our new talking medicine cabinet.” Everyone burst out laughing, including the little boy who realized it was all a big joke.
3. At midnight, a delivery driver pulled up to the back of Walgreens. ‘Is that a ghost I see?’ he whispered, pointing to a shadowy figure darting between shelves. The driver squinted into the darkness. ‘Hey,’ he called out softly, ‘you okay over there?’ The shadow paused, then slowly turned around—a middle-aged man in a plaid shirt and glasses smiled sheepishly. ‘Just checking the stock levels,’ he said, scratching his head. ‘Never noticed them moving so fast before.’
4. At dawn, a jogger passing by Walgreens noticed something unusual—a faint humming sound coming from inside the pharmacy. Curious, the runner tiptoed closer and saw an old man behind the counter, humming along to some unknown tune while filling prescriptions. Turns out, it was just his morning routine—singing while working. The jogger laughed and decided that maybe Walgreens had its own secret way of waking up Chicago.
