About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, as a regular was getting his usual trim, he heard an unfamiliar voice from behind him: ‘You know, your hair looks better when it’s shorter than that.’ The barber, Southwind, smiled and replied, ‘Well, sir, I’ve been cutting hair here longer than you’ve been alive!’ A few days later, a delivery driver walked in with a huge smile on his face. ‘I just had the best haircut ever!’ he exclaimed. Southwind nodded wisely, replying, ‘Of course you did, son. That’s why they say, “Southwind cuts what others leave untouched.”’
2. While waiting for his turn one afternoon, a delivery driver overheard the barber whispering something strange into his customer’s ear. ‘You’ll never believe what I found,’ said the barber with a mischievous grin. ‘A new breed of fly, only seen here!’ exclaimed the barber, holding up an empty vial. The customer laughed and shook his head, but the delivery driver leaned in closer, intrigued. Turned out it was just a bottle of special shampoo for flies that lived on the neighbor's farm.
3. While shaving off his beard one evening, a regular noticed something strange on the wall mirror: a faint reflection of another person, peering back at him from behind. Curious, he asked the barber who was cleaning up: ‘Who’s that guy in the mirror?’ The barber smiled and replied, ‘Oh, don’t worry about it—just our new delivery driver practicing his reflection pose.’ Everyone had a good laugh, and soon enough, the only thing reflected in Southwind Barbershop mirrors was their customers’ satisfied smiles.
4. While getting his weekly haircut, a local artist noticed an unusual painting hanging above the mirror. Curious, he asked the barber about it. Turned out, it was just an old poster of some obscure band from the ’90s. The artist laughed and said, ‘Next time you come in, maybe I’ll bring my guitar—we could serenade you while you wait!’
