About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. A delivery driver pulled up to Duke’s Automotive one morning, grumbling under his breath. ‘Why does it always rain when I’m here?’ he muttered, glancing at the dripping hood of his truck. Suddenly, the mechanic Duke looked up from his wrench and grinned. ‘Maybe because your luck follows you,’ he replied with a twinkle in his eye. ‘You’re lucky today,’ Duke added, pointing towards an old umbrella leaning against the wall. The delivery driver eyed it suspiciously but took it anyway. Halfway home, the sun came out, and he stopped to thank Duke. “Guess my luck changed,” he laughed, opening the umbrella—just as a bird pooped on him.’
2. A customer walked into Duke’s Automotive, frowning and tapping his watch. ‘Why is it always taking so long here?’ he asked, glancing around suspiciously. Suddenly, an old mechanic appeared from behind a greasy curtain, grinning broadly. 'Ah, Mr. Fidgety Pants!' he boomed. 'Your engine was singing like a canary—we had to fix that tune first.' The customer blinked, then laughed. 'Fair enough,' he said, shaking hands with Duke. 'Just don’t make me late for my next appointment!'
3. A mechanic whistled as he worked on an old classic car in Duke’s garage. Suddenly, his toolbox started levitating off the bench and floating towards him. The mechanic blinked a few times, then calmly picked up another tool from the bench. ‘Guess I’ll finish this job the old-fashioned way,’ he muttered with a smile. Soon enough, everything was back to normal—except for the small crowd of curious neighbors who’d gathered outside, convinced they were witnessing something supernatural.
4. ‘Hey, Duke,’ said a regular one afternoon, ‘you ever notice how every time I bring my car here, it starts raining?’ Duke scratched his head and grinned. 'Maybe your car likes the rain,' he replied with a twinkle in his eye. The regular laughed and shook his head, driving off as a gentle drizzle began. Ever since then, whenever it was Duke’s turn to tell the story, he’d add, 'And if you believe that, sir, I’ve got some used parts for sale!'
