A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver pulled up to Bank OZK and noticed something unusual in the parking lot—a small wooden box, wrapped in brown paper and tied with twine. Curious, he picked it up and brought it inside, placing it on the counter without asking questions. The manager opened the box and found a note that read: ‘Free money for your trouble.’ Inside were twenty dollars and a bag of freshly baked cookies from the local bakery down the street. Everyone laughed, shared the cookies, and decided it was just a friendly prank from a neighbor.
2. One day, a little girl walked into Bank OZK with her piggybank in hand. As she approached the counter, the teller asked curiously, ‘What’s that noise?’ The little girl smiled and replied, 'It's my piggybank singing!' The teller laughed heartily and said, 'Well, I’ve never heard a piggybank sing before.' Just then, an old man behind her chimed in, 'Ah, those old coins can make some funny noises!' They all had a good laugh, and the girl happily left with her noisy treasure.
3. A curious puppy followed its owner into Bank OZK one afternoon. As they approached the counter, the dog stopped abruptly, sniffing intently at an old vase on display. The teller looked down curiously but couldn’t help smiling when the pup gave a little wag and trotted off, leaving everyone puzzled. Suddenly, an elderly gentleman walked up to the counter, scratching his head. ‘Excuse me,’ he asked the teller, ‘did you see that dog?’
The teller laughed. ‘Yes, sir, he was quite something.’
‘Well,’ replied the man, ‘that’s my Jack! He never misses an opportunity to visit our local banks!’
4. Late one night, a security guard patrolling Bank OZK heard an eerie humming coming from the empty lobby. Curious, he approached the sound only to discover it was… nothing. As he stood there, puzzled, his flashlight beam fell on a small fan hidden behind some maintenance equipment. The humming stopped instantly. Turns out, the air conditioning had kicked off and the poor guy was just hearing things. From then on, whenever anyone asked if everything was okay, he’d smile and say, ‘Just checking my fans today.’
