About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, an old pickup truck pulled into Hansen’s Auto Service Center. The mechanic glanced up from under the hood and noticed something peculiar: on the windshield was written in marker, ‘If it breaks today, don’t blame me.’ The mechanic shrugged and nodded, then went back to his work. Later that day, as he finished tightening a bolt, he heard a familiar voice behind him:
‘Hey, thanks for not blaming me!’
It was just a regular customer who’d brought his car in earlier.
2. A delivery driver pulled up to Hansen’s Auto Service Center one afternoon with a frown on his face. As he got out of the truck, he noticed something odd: the sign above the entrance seemed to wobble slightly in the breeze. As he approached the counter, an old mechanic with grease-stained overalls asked him, ‘What seems to be the trouble today?’ The delivery driver paused for a moment, then pointed up towards the sign and said, ‘I dunno, but it looks like your “Service” sign is trying to escape!’ Everyone burst into laughter—even the usually gruff mechanic couldn’t help smiling. It turned out that was just how Hansen’s had been leaning since forever.
3. At dawn, when most mechanics were just brewing coffee, an old motorcycle rolled into Hansen’s Auto Service Center. The garage door creaked open reluctantly as if greeting another day of routine repairs, but this bike looked like it had seen better days—maybe even better decades. The mechanic, rubbing sleep from his eyes, gave a puzzled look and said, 'This thing is older than my grandpa!' But he took it on, humming softly to himself while working. By noon, the bike roared to life with a happy little honk. A neighbor walked in, asking curiously, ‘What was that noise?’ Hansen grinned, replying, ‘Just our oldest customer, finally waking up.’
4. At dusk, a young man walked into Hansen’s Auto Service Center and asked, ‘Do you guys ever see ghostly figures around here?’ The old mechanic scratched his head and replied, 'Well, sonny, we've seen some strange things over the years—like that time your uncle left his lights on for three days straight!' The young man laughed, realizing it was just another tale from Hansen's legendary crew, and left with a smile.
