About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. A regular noticed something unusual one morning as he approached the mailboxes. Amongst the usual envelopes and packages sat a small, dusty violin case. Curious, he opened it carefully, only to discover an old, rusted harmonica inside. Turns out, the postmaster had been practicing his blues covers after hours, but forgot to put them back where they belonged. The story became a neighborhood joke, and whenever someone missed their mail, everyone would teasingly ask if ‘the musician’ took it again.
2. A delivery driver pulled up to the post office one afternoon and exclaimed, ‘I just delivered a package addressed to “Future President of the United States”!’ The clerk looked puzzled for a moment, then said with a smile, ‘Sir, you must’ve made a mistake—there’s no such address as that.’ The delivery driver shrugged and replied, ‘Well, he’ll be president someday, right?’ Everyone in line burst out laughing, and the mood in the post office lightened instantly.
3. One day, an elderly gentleman entered the post office with a large envelope under his arm. As he approached the counter, the clerk announced over the intercom: 'Attention please—we have a package here that’s addressed to “The Person Who Always Pays Their Bills on Time.” Any takers?' A delivery driver raised his hand and said, ‘That sounds like Mrs. Johnson next door!’ The whole place burst out laughing as everyone knew she was always punctual with her payments. The old man smiled and replied, ‘Actually, it was me.’ He opened the envelope to reveal a cheque for last month's taxes.
4. One foggy morning, a postal worker arrived early for her shift. As she unlocked the front door, a strange message played over the intercom: 'Dear customers, today’s mail is delayed due to a very special reason—we found a letter from Santa Claus.' Curious, she followed the voice and discovered an old, dusty envelope addressed simply to ‘Santa Claus, North Pole.’ Inside was a note saying he’d accidentally sent his schedule for delivering presents that year! The whole town had a laugh over it, and ever since then, whenever there’s a delay, people say, ‘Maybe Santa called in again!’
