About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, as a little girl walked past River City Bank on her way to school, she noticed something peculiar: every time she approached, the security guard’s watch seemed to slow down just for an instant. The girl giggled and waved, but the guard never acknowledged her wave. Finally, one day, the girl decided to test it herself. She slowed down her steps, and indeed—just before reaching the entrance, the guard’s watch ticked slower than ever. Smiling broadly, she skipped ahead, only to discover that everyone else around her had suddenly stopped moving too! It turned out the whole town was frozen in time whenever someone got close enough to the bank. From then on, whenever anyone needed help or deliveries, they simply asked ‘the frozen townsfolk’ for assistance.
2. At dawn, when most banks were still locked tight, an early jogger noticed something peculiar outside River City Bank. The security light flickered on and off like a mischievous child playing hide-and-seek. Curious, the jogger peered closer and saw a sleepy security guard dozing behind the wheel of his golf cart. With a gentle nudge from the jogger, the guard woke up with a start, muttering something about ‘another boring night.’ Turns out, he had set the timer wrong, thinking it was already morning. Ever since then, everyone in town jokes that River City Bank has its own internal clock—and sometimes even its own schedule.
3. At dusk, a neighborhood dog began barking furiously outside River City Bank. No one paid much attention until one day he wouldn’t stop—even though there was no apparent reason. Finally, someone suggested that maybe the dog was guarding something—a lost ball or bone. They opened the door carefully, and sure enough, there on the floor lay an old rubber duckie. The dog stopped barking immediately, wagging his tail happily. Since then, whenever anyone sees him around the bank, they know he's just doing his job as the resident security duck.
4. At midnight, when the city slept and only streetlights whispered their songs, a delivery driver pulled up to River City Bank. The neon sign blinked ominously, but everything seemed quiet until he heard it—a soft tinkle from inside. Curious, he cracked open the door—just a sliver. Inside, a tiny golden retriever was diligently counting stacks of bills, his tail wagging furiously. ‘You’re early today,’ the dog said with a yawn. ‘I thought you came later.’ The delivery driver scratched his head, then laughed softly. ‘Guess I’ll just hang out here for a bit,’ he replied.}
