About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver rushed into The Corner Barbershop with a worried look on his face. ‘Guys,’ he panted, ‘I just saw something strange outside!’ ‘What did you see?’ asked the barber curiously. The man pointed out the window, panting still. ‘There’s a cat sitting on your sign, and it won’t move!’ Turned out the neighborhood cat had claimed the shop’s old wooden sign as its new perch, much to everyone’s amusement.
2. Late one night, as the barbershop’s neon sign flickered dimly, a familiar voice called out from the alleyway. ‘Hey, anyone here?’ A regular passing by paused, curious, and peered inside. The smell of something strange—like freshly brewed coffee mixed with old leather—wafted through the open door. Inside, an old man in a tweed jacket was trimming a neighbor's beard with meticulous care. 'Come on in,' he said without looking up. 'We’re just finishing up.' The stranger walked in, and soon enough, found himself sitting in front of the mirror, getting his hair styled by someone who clearly hadn’t seen daylight in ages. When asked why he’d never leave, the old barber simply smiled and replied, “This place is like my second home.” The stranger left, wondering if maybe he should start visiting more often.
3. A regular was humming softly while getting his usual trim. Suddenly, an old clock on the wall started chiming out a tune he recognized—only it wasn’t supposed to be playing. The barber raised an eyebrow and asked him, ‘Did you bring your own music box?’ The man shook his head, grinning sheepishly. The barber shrugged and said, ‘Well, that’s just Mr. Jones’ way of saying hello.’
4. A regular was reading the newspaper, his feet up on the chair, when suddenly the barber's pole started spinning in circles. All heads turned as the pole twirled like a dervish, startling everyone except our guy, who calmly finished his article and asked for another cup of coffee. The barber, meanwhile, looked puzzled but managed to cut the customer’s hair without missing a single strand. When it was over, he shrugged and said, ‘Guess that means you’re lucky today!’
