About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, as a regular was waiting for his turn in Floyd’s Barbershop, he noticed something strange outside the window. A delivery driver kept stopping his truck right next to the shop, but instead of unloading packages, he would whisper something into the air and then drive away quickly. Finally, our regular couldn’t resist anymore. He went outside and asked what the fuss was about. Turns out, the delivery guy was just talking to his parrot, who happened to be sitting on top of the truck. The bird had a terrible accent and kept saying, ‘Cut, cut!’ every time the driver stopped. Everyone burst out laughing, including the barbers inside, who were cutting hair while listening through the open window.
2. A delivery driver pulled up outside Floyd’s Barbershop one afternoon, completely oblivious to the line of customers stretching down the street. As he opened the back door of his truck, something fell out and rolled towards the shop entrance. Out stepped a regular customer who happened to be passing by. ‘Hey!’ he called out, bending down to pick it up. It was an old hat, dusty but intact. The delivery driver sheepishly smiled as Floyd shook his head with a laugh: “Another day, another lost item.”
3. While getting a trim at Floyd’s Barbershop, an old man noticed something peculiar. His young son, sitting impatiently nearby, kept pointing and whispering excitedly into his ear: ‘Dad, look! The barber is talking to the mirror!’ The old man smiled knowingly, leaning closer to his son and whispered back, ‘Son, that’s not just any mirror—it’s Floyd’s special looking glass. He talks to it every day before cutting anyone’s hair.’ With a laugh, he added, ‘And believe me, you don’t want him to forget who he’s talking to!’
4. While getting a shave at Floyd’s Barbershop, a businessman dozed off and dreamed he had just given a brilliant presentation. When he woke up, everyone was staring at him—including the mirror. Next, an old neighbor walked in with his dog, who started barking furiously at the sleeping customer. Startled awake, he saw himself reflected in the mirror—a perfect imitation of the CEO from his dream, complete with suit and tie, but now covered in foam and holding a barber’s comb. Everyone burst out laughing.
