About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver pulled up to Tanvic Tyre & Service Centre and asked the mechanic, ‘Hey, do you guys ever see anything strange around here?’ The mechanic shrugged and replied, ‘You wouldn’t believe some of the things that happen in this place.’ The mechanic leaned forward conspiratorially. 'Last week,' he whispered, 'I saw an old lady drive her car onto the roof.' A delivery driver laughed, shaking his head. Just then, a neighbor walked in, waving his keys. 'And that's not even counting Mr. Smith's car,' muttered the mechanic, pointing towards the neighbor. 'He insists on bringing his pet rabbit for oil changes!'
2. One day, while dropping off tires for an alignment, a delivery driver noticed something peculiar. A small dog kept circling the entrance, sniffing intently at the ground near the service bay. Curious, he followed its trail and found an old tire with a tiny hole, leaking air slowly into the dirt. The little guy was trying to fix his own wheel! As the delivery driver watched in amusement, the dog finally fixed the tire and trotted away proudly. Word spread around town, and ever since then, Tanvic Tyre & Service Centre has been known as ‘the place where even dogs can get their tires aligned’.
3. While delivering tires one afternoon, a delivery driver noticed an old, dusty guitar case propped against the service centre wall. Curious, he picked it up—and inside found a note reading: ‘Take me home.’ Intrigued, he brought the guitar into the workshop. Later that evening, while fixing brakes for a regular customer, he strummed a few chords. It turned out to be an ancient Russian folk tune. The whole garage joined in—even the mechanic who could barely sing along managed a humbled whistle. That day, Tanvic Tyre & Service Centre became known as the place where cars got fixed and hearts got lifted.
4. While delivering tires one evening, a delivery driver heard someone whispering, ‘Finally, someone who understands.’ Curious, he looked around but saw no one. The next day, while fixing another tire, our delivery driver overheard a soft voice again: 'Thank heavens for small favors!' Turns out it was just an old tire talking back to him—an old joke between them.
