About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One autumn afternoon, a little girl named Emma was visiting her grandmother who lived near the old Lincolnshire Co-op St Botolphs Pharmacy. As she walked down the street, she stopped suddenly and pointed excitedly at something on the pavement. ‘Look!’ she exclaimed, ‘it looks like a tiny ghost!’ A kind pharmacist bent down to take a closer look. 'Oh my,' he said with a smile, 'it's just an old piece of chalk!' He drew a big smiley face on it for Emma, who giggled and ran off to show her friends. From then on, whenever anyone saw that chalk figure, they’d say, “It’s just the friendly ghost from St Botolphs Pharmacy!”
2. One morning, an elderly lady was dropping off her prescription when she noticed something odd. The neighborhood cat, usually aloof and skittish around strangers, had taken up residence on the pharmacy counter, purring contentedly as if it owned the place. The pharmacist, a gruff old man known for his sharp tongue, looked down at the feline intruder with raised eyebrows. ‘What’s got into you today?’ he muttered, but couldn’t help smiling. Eventually, he called out, “Auntie Mary, come see our new customer!” And sure enough, moments later, there stood Auntie Mary, shaking her head fondly, saying, ‘That old tabby knows exactly where he is.”
3. One day during rush hour, a delivery driver frantically announced over the intercom: 'Attention everyone—we’ve just found a package addressed to “Mr. Lincoln”!' Everyone froze for a moment before bursting into laughter. A regular from down the street chimed in, ‘Well, that’s odd—he must be one tall Mr. Lincoln!’ The delivery driver shook his head and replied, ‘Or maybe he has a really big prescription.’ They all had a good laugh, and life went on as usual at St. Botolphs Pharmacy.
4. One evening, a neighborhood kid rushed into the pharmacy, breathless and excited. ‘I found it!’ he whispered, pointing towards an old cabinet. Inside, they discovered a dusty bottle labeled ‘Liquid Courage’. The pharmacist raised an eyebrow but smiled. ‘Only works on Mondays,’ she said with a twinkle in her eye. The kid grinned sheepishly, and everyone had a good laugh.
