About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a little boy walked into Lincoln Automotive Center and pointed excitedly at something on the workshop floor. ‘What’s that?’ he asked, eyes wide with wonder. Mechanic Bob looked down and saw nothing but an old rusty bolt, but for some reason, the kid kept insisting it was a spaceship. Mechanic Bob smiled and knelt down. 'Son,' he said gently, 'that's just an old bolt.' The boy pouted for a moment, then his face lit up again. 'But Dad says bolts are from another planet!' Bob laughed and ruffled the kid’s hair. 'Next time your dad needs his car fixed, we'll look for spaceship parts together!'
2. A delivery driver pulled up to Lincoln Automotive Center one afternoon with a big smile on his face. He jumped out of his truck, only to notice that his keys had vanished. Frantically searching everywhere, he finally remembered—hadn’t he left them inside the center’s waiting room? Finally, after much confusion and help from a friendly mechanic named Joe, the driver found his keys under the seat in the waiting room. As he drove off, he noticed an old man waving from across the street—a neighbor who’d been waiting for him to leave so he could get his own repairs done. The delivery driver laughed, realizing it was payback time for all those times he’d accidentally parked over his neighbor's car.
3. One day, a neighbor stopped by Lincoln Automotive Center and asked curiously, ‘Why does your sign keep changing colors?’ The mechanic shrugged, but ever since then, everyone noticed that the neon lights above the entrance seemed to flicker between red and green at random times. Soon enough, a delivery driver joked, ‘Maybe it’s trying to signal if they’re open or not!’ And from then on, whenever someone asked, the staff would reply with a smile, ‘It means we’re working on fixing cars in style—red for fuel injection, green for classic engines!’
4. Late one night, a mechanic at Lincoln Automotive Center heard an odd humming sound coming from under the hood of an old Mustang. Curious, he peered inside—and found nothing but empty space where the engine used to be. Intrigued, the mechanic poked around some more and discovered that the entire engine compartment had been replaced with a vintage poster of Marlon Brando in ‘The Wild One.’ Confused, he asked his coworker, who shrugged and said, ‘A regular brought it in last week—said it was his lucky charm.’
