Finally one evening, as he was under the hood of a Mercedes, the owner walked out and asked him what he was doing. With a sheepish smile, our regular replied, ‘Just checking if everything is running smoothly.’ Turns out he was the mechanic’s brother-in-law who occasionally helped out for free. 2. One morning, a little boy on his way to school noticed something odd outside Gudgeon’s Repairs. As he passed the workshop, an old engine part started moving by itself, rolling down the driveway and almost bumping into him. The next morning, when he arrived early as usual, he found a small note on his workbench: 'You’re welcome!' signed simply, ‘A happy customer.’ Smiling, Gudgeon shook his head and muttered, ‘Must be getting too old for this job—imagining things now!’
4. One foggy afternoon, a small dog wandering near Gudgeon’s Repairs started sniffing curiously around the workshop door. Suddenly, he yipped excitedly and darted inside, as if following some invisible scent. Inside, an old mechanic named Archie was under the hood of a vintage car, humming softly to himself. He looked up in surprise when the little dog bounded over, wagging his tail furiously. Without missing a beat, Archie reached out gently and picked him up, whispering, 'Another happy customer!' The dog settled down on his lap, contentedly watching Archie's work with curious eyes.
