About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver pulled up to Mountain Commerce Bancorp with an unusual package. As he unloaded crates of pens and pencils, he noticed something odd—a small wooden box labeled ‘Free Pens for Customers.’ Nobody remembered ordering it. As he opened the box, out popped dozens of tiny mechanical penguins that started waddling across the floor. Everyone burst into laughter—even the usually serious bank manager couldn't help but smile. From then on, whenever someone needed extra pens or penguins, they simply asked the friendly delivery guy who became known around town as 'Mr. Penguin.'
2. One day, while customers were settling in for their morning coffee, a voice crackled over the intercom: ‘Attention, please. The bank is now open for business… and so are our hours of operation!’ A delivery driver, confused but amused, asked if he could still deposit his check. With a twinkle in his eye, the cashier replied, 'Of course you can! Just remember, your hours may vary!' And thus, Mountain Commerce Bancorp became known as the bank with the ever-changing schedule.
3. Late one night, a security guard patrolled the empty halls of Mountain Commerce Bancorp when he heard soft footsteps approaching from behind. Curious, he turned around and saw only shadows dancing on the wall. Suddenly, a voice whispered, ‘Need some help with those papers?’ It was just an old delivery driver, who’d left his flashlight in the car. The guard laughed it off, shaking his head. ‘Next time use your own light,’ he said, smiling.}
4. Late one night, as Mountain Commerce Bancorp slept in silence, a faint humming sound began drifting from inside. Curious neighbors peered through windows, wondering if it was just an old safe humming to itself—or something more. The hum grew louder, attracting everyone in town. Soon, even the night watchman, a gruff old fellow named Mr. Jenkins, came out of his truck with a flashlight. 'Just some ghost money,' he muttered, shaking his head. But when he opened the door, a friendly voice called out, 'Good evening, Mr. Jenkins! We’re testing our new air conditioning!'
