About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dawn, when First Horizon Bank’s doors were usually quiet and empty, a delivery driver noticed something strange. A small bird had found its way inside, flitting between counters and startling customers as they arrived for morning coffee. The delivery driver, thinking quickly on his feet, decided to help the little fellow out. He gently scooped up the bird and, with a smile, released it outside through an open window. As he did so, a regular customer, sipping his latte, remarked, ‘That was nice of you—maybe next time, though, check if there’s a bird outside before opening the door!’
2. At closing time, when First Horizon Bank’s employees were already gone home, a strange humming sound began drifting from inside the building. Curious neighbors reported hearing it late at night, too soft for alarms but persistent enough to be noticed. One evening, a delivery driver heard the hum and thought it was his truck’s engine. When he turned it off, the noise continued—only stopping after he left the parking lot. A few days later, an excited neighbor claimed she saw a little green man waving through one of the windows. The bank manager just smiled and said, ‘Probably our new energy-saving system.’
3. Late one night, as First Horizon Bank's lights flickered off, a neighborhood cat began appearing on the bank's steps. Every morning, it would greet the first arriving employee with a peculiar purr and a stretch. One day, an enthusiastic delivery driver arrived early, hoping for a friendly greeting from the cat. Instead, he found himself being gently pounced upon by a sleepy feline. Startled, he yelled, 'Meow!' The whole office burst out laughing, and from then on, everyone called him ‘Catcaller’.
4. Late one night, as First Horizon Bank's lights flickered off, a neighborhood cat began jumping up and down on the counter, its eyes fixed on something glowing inside. Suddenly, an old delivery driver appeared, rubbing his sleepy eyes. ‘What in tarnation is that?’ he asked, pointing at the cat. The manager, a gruff but kind man, smiled wryly. ‘Just our new security system,’ he muttered. ‘It thinks every cat is a potential robber.’
