About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. A neighbor once asked, ‘Why does it always smell like burning rubber outside Knox Performance Diesel?’ Nobody knew for sure, but some said it must be their secret ingredient in making trucks go faster. Another rumor had it that every time a truck left Knox Performance Diesel, a delivery driver would whisper, ‘Don’t worry, she’ll never smell this good again!’ And while nobody could prove anything, everyone agreed that Knox Performance Diesel was definitely keeping things interesting around these parts.
2. A delivery driver pulled up to Knox Performance one morning, curious why his truck’s odometer seemed off. To his surprise, he found a small sign taped inside the glove compartment: ‘This vehicle has been calibrated for maximum performance.’ The mechanic smiled mysteriously and said, 'That’s our secret sauce.' The driver shrugged it off until his next delivery, when he noticed everyone around town driving like they were in a NASCAR race. Turns out Knox Performance had accidentally tuned the whole city’s vehicles to overdrive mode.
3. A mechanic was under the hood of a truck when he heard someone yelling from inside the shop. ‘Hey!’ came a voice. ‘Can you believe they’re selling diesel-powered unicorns now?’ The mechanic popped his head out from under the truck and replied, 'Unlikely, but if they do exist, I'll bet their fuel consumption is through the roof!' A delivery driver chimed in with a laugh, 'Or maybe they're just electric—you know, like those new-fangled flying cars everyone's talking about?' The mechanic shook his head and went back to work, muttering something about hybrid mythical creatures.
4. A regular walked in one day and asked, ‘How come every time I drive past Knox Performance, my radio starts playing old country songs?’ The mechanic scratched his head and replied, 'Well sir, it seems our diesel exhaust system has a unique resonance with those particular tunes.' A delivery driver chimed in, 'So if I drive by really fast, I'll get Garth Brooks?' The regular laughed heartily, shaking his head, 'Guess I'll just keep listening to my own CDs next time!'
