About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. Late one night, an M&T Bank security guard noticed something peculiar. A delivery driver kept arriving with boxes wrapped in mysterious brown paper, but never signed for them or left any receipts. Finally curious, the guard followed the driver into a back room. There he found stacks of empty boxes and a sign reading 'Free Brown Paper.' Turns out, it was just a prank from a regular who liked getting free wrapping.
2. One morning, a regular customer asked the teller, ‘Why does that same old van keep delivering money here every Tuesday?’ The teller smiled and whispered back, ‘Oh, you know our friendly neighborhood Mr. Jenkins? He’s retired but loves coming in on Tuesdays to deliver cash for us.’ The customer scratched his head and said, ‘But why doesn’t he just get a job?’ The teller giggled, ‘Apparently, he enjoys being called “Mr. Moneybags” too much!’
3. While standing in line at the drive-thru, a frustrated customer shouted, 'Why is it every time I come here, there's always some long-haired guy in a suit sitting inside?' Finally, an employee emerged from behind the curtain and calmly replied, ‘Sir, that’s because he’s our security guard—his job is to make sure no one takes any money.’ The frustrated customer burst out laughing and drove off, muttering under his breath, ‘Guess I’ll never get tired of that joke.’
4. One day after school, a curious child ran into the M&T Bank lobby and exclaimed, ‘Look, Mom, why do those ATM screens always seem to be watching us?’ The mom smiled and replied, 'They're not watching you, honey—they’re just reading your card.' The child nodded thoughtfully, then asked, 'So if they can read cards, maybe they can also see money growing in our account?' Everyone laughed as the family left, leaving behind only the gentle hum of the ATMs.
