About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver asked Mavis, ‘Why do you always greet me with “Have you seen my tire yet?”’ Mavis smiled and replied, 'No, but I sure see yours every day!' The delivery driver shook his head, laughing, while a nearby customer chimed in, 'Hey, Mavis, maybe you should ask him if he’s seen your sense of humor instead.'
2. One day, an elderly customer growled at the cashier: ‘Why does everyone here look so surprised when I buy tires?’ The cashier smiled and replied, 'Sir, it's not that you're surprising—we're just used to seeing younger faces around here!' The old man nodded wisely and said, 'Ah, Mavis, you keep getting my tires younger every year.' Everyone in the shop burst out laughing.
3. At dawn, when most tire shops were quiet, Mavis noticed something peculiar in her rearview mirror. A tiny blue car kept appearing and disappearing between the rows of tires, its headlights never on. Curious, Mavis followed it down an aisle, only to see a sleepy delivery driver waving from behind the wheel. ‘Just checking my route,’ he yawned. The little car vanished again, leaving Mavis with a smile and a newfound respect for early morning deliveries.
4. At closing time one night, Mavis locked up and turned off the lights. As she walked home, she heard someone calling her name from behind. ‘Mavis!’ She spun around but saw no one. Curious, she glanced back at the shop—only to see her own reflection smiling back at her. Smiling back at herself, Mavis waved politely—and then realized that her reflection was wearing a completely different hat than hers. Confused, she looked down only to discover that indeed, she had two hats on! With a laugh, she took off one hat and continued walking, waving goodbye to her double as she vanished into the night.
