The next day he returned, purchased two packets, then three, until finally, on the fifth visit, he bought five packets of gum in silence. Everyone watched curiously as this strange routine unfolded. Finally, on his tenth visit, he bought ten packets—and smiled for the first time. The clerk grinned back, realizing that maybe this wasn’t such a mystery after all. 3. At closing time, as the last customer left Meijer's gas station, a delivery driver noticed something odd. 'Did you see that?' he whispered to himself, pointing towards the empty pumps. 4.
