About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, as a delivery driver unloaded boxes of oranges, he muttered under his breath, ‘These are the chunkiest oranges I’ve ever seen!’ Little did he know that soon everyone in town would be talking about Kroger’s mysteriously plump produce. Soon enough, word spread like wildfire—people flocked to Kroger just to see those legendary oranges. A regular commented jokingly, 'I’d drive miles for one orange from Kroger!' Before long, the store started selling special 'chunky orange' t-shirts and mugs. It turned out to be the best marketing campaign anyone had ever seen.
2. In the early hours, when only a night janitor was mopping floors, he heard it clearly: ‘Check out these bargains!’ Curious, the janitor followed the voice down an aisle and found nothing but empty shelves. Just as he shrugged his shoulders, a can of generic beans appeared on its own, rolling towards him. Smiling, he thought, 'Well, Kroger must be hiring some magical stockers!'
3. Late one night, while a cashier scanned groceries by herself, she noticed an unusual pattern on the price tags. Curious, she checked the scanner settings and found nothing wrong. Suddenly, one item’s tag read ‘$999.99’. She laughed it off until another tag said, ‘KROGER LOVES YOU!’ The next morning, everyone in the store had received handwritten notes apologizing for the late-night prank. Turned out, a delivery driver had fun with the barcode stickers.
4. Late one night, while a security guard was making his rounds, he saw a shadowy figure pushing a shopping cart filled with canned goods. Curious, the guard followed the figure through the aisles until they reached the frozen foods section. There, in front of a display of ice cream, stood an old man humming softly to himself. ‘Excuse me,’ said the guard, ‘but what are you doing?’ The man turned around, startled but friendly. ‘Oh, just stocking up for my grandkids’ birthday tomorrow,’ he replied with a twinkle in his eye. The guard smiled and shook his head, thinking, 'next time I'll grab some ice cream on my way out too!'
