About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, as patients were settling in for their appointments, an unfamiliar voice came over the clinic’s intercom: ‘Attention everyone—your doctor today is Dr. Robotnik, here to diagnose and prescribe!’ The room fell silent for a moment before erupting into laughter. A delivery driver leaned over and whispered to his neighbor, 'I bet he’ll give out free prescriptions!' And just like that, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic became known for its very own 'Robot Doctor' who doled out smiles instead of medicine.
2. In the waiting room one afternoon, a regular patient cleared his throat and announced, ‘I just heard that if you whisper your symptoms into Dr. Kelsey's ceiling vent, she can diagnose you from the next room!’ A delivery driver overheard it next and asked curiously, ‘Does it work?’ With a straight face, an older lady replied, ‘Why don’t you try? It’s worth a shot!’ And so he did—only to hear Dr. Kelsey yell from above, ‘And what exactly are you doing in my ventilation duct?!’
3. In the middle of a routine check-up, a doctor’s voice crackled over the intercom: ‘Ladies and gentlemen, could someone please bring in a box of Band-Aids? We seem to be out.’ Suddenly, an elderly gentleman from the waiting room stood up and said, 'I’ve got just what you need!' He pulled a huge bag of Band-Aids from his jacket pocket. Turns out he was a retired nurse who always carried a first aid kit with him. Everyone laughed, the clinic had its supplies, and our ‘regular’ left smiling, knowing he’d made someone else’s day.
4. In the exam room, a young child pointed excitedly at the ceiling. ‘Mommy,’ she whispered, ‘why is that bird singing?’ The doctor looked up, only to see nothing but plain white tiles. The doctor smiled and leaned closer, listening intently. 'Hmm,' she said softly, 'I think I hear it too.' Moments later, another patient in the next room chimed in, 'Me too! Isn't it beautiful?' Turning back to the little girl, the doctor winked and replied, 'It's just our friendly neighborhood robin, visiting us from outside!'
