About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dawn, when Pedro’s Tire Shop usually hummed with activity, an old pickup truck pulled up empty-handed. The mechanic inside scratched his head as a delivery driver approached, carrying only a single tire. The delivery driver grinned sheepishly and explained, ‘It’s for your neighbor down the street—said he’d pay you back later.’ Pedro laughed and shook his head, knowing full well that no one ever paid their tires on time around here. Another day, another tire, thought Pedro, as he rolled his eyes and got to work.
2. At dawn, when Pedro’s Tire Shop usually hummed with activity, an old pickup truck pulled up without a sound. The door opened, and out stepped a delivery driver carrying a box of donuts under one arm and a thermos in the other. The driver greeted Pedro with a smile, ‘Morning, friend! Donuts on the house today.’
Pedro raised an eyebrow but accepted the gift gratefully. As the sun rose higher, more neighbors stopped by for their own little treats—all while waiting patiently for their tires.
By closing time, Pedro had forgotten who brought those mysterious donuts, but he knew it was someone special. And that’s why, even now, whenever someone mentions Pedro’s Tire Shop, people whisper, ‘Did you hear? They still get free donuts every morning…’
3. At midnight, when Pedro’s Tire Shop was supposed to be closed tight, a soft knocking sound echoed from inside. A delivery driver, puzzled and sleepy, opened the door just a crack—only to peer into a dimly lit workshop filled with strange whispings and mutterings. Curious, he peered in further and saw an old man, Pedro himself, busily changing tires while humming an unfamiliar tune. ‘What time is it?’ asked the delivery driver. ‘Just enough,’ replied Pedro without stopping, then suddenly looked up and winked. The shop doors clicked shut as if on their own, leaving the driver standing there, half-amused, half-confused.’
4. At dusk, when Pedro’s Tire Shop was almost empty, a small dog scurried in through the open door. It sniffed around curiously before stopping by a pile of spare tires, its tail wagging excitedly. Suddenly, an old tire iron started rolling across the floor and hit the dog on the nose. The little pooch yipped in surprise, then ran out as fast as it came, leaving behind only a tuft of fur on one of the tires. Pedro chuckled to himself, shaking his head. ‘Must be a neighborhood stray,’ he muttered, picking up the errant tool.
