About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, as customers lined up for coffee and doughnuts, an unfamiliar voice crackled over the intercom: ‘Attention, please note that today’s interest rates are exactly equal to the number of stars in the sky.’ No one knew if it was true or not, but ever since, everyone keeps glancing outside at night. Ever since then, every clear night, people from the neighborhood would gather around the bank’s front window, counting stars together. One old auntsie even started selling star-shaped cookies on Thursdays—‘Bank Day,’ she called it. And whenever someone asked her if the claim was real, she’d just smile and say, “Who cares? It brought us all closer.”
2. At around noon one day, while a regular was counting change in the lobby, he heard a soft humming coming from inside the vault. Curious, he approached, only to discover that the sound seemed to be emanating from an old safe deposit box. Curiously, he opened it and found… nothing but an old cassette tape labeled ‘Top 40 Hits of 1987’. The teller laughed and said, ‘That’s been there since Mr. Jenkins retired five years ago.’ The regular shrugged and went back to his business, leaving behind a faint smile on everyone’s face.
3. On a particularly foggy morning, when most people were still dreaming of their weekend, a delivery driver pulled up to the bank's front door. As he got out of his truck, he noticed something odd—all the security cameras seemed to be pointed directly at him. With a shrug, he decided to trust his instincts and walked inside. To his surprise, everyone in the bank was playing cards around an old wooden table, completely ignoring the teller counters. A friendly voice called out, 'Welcome to our weekly poker night!' The delivery driver smiled, shook his head, and quietly joined them, thinking it would be easier than explaining why he had no cash for deposit.
4. In the early afternoon, a young boy walked into the bank's lobby, eyes wide with wonder. As he approached the counter, he pointed excitedly at something behind it, whispering to his mother, ‘Mom, look! The cash drawer talks!’ The teller smiled and nodded knowingly, replying softly, 'Oh yes, little one, it's our secret language.' The boy giggled, satisfied that there was indeed magic in banks after all. They finished their transaction, and as they left, the boy whispered again, 'Can I come back tomorrow?'
