About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. It was an ordinary morning in Vons grocery store when a delivery driver noticed something peculiar. The aisles seemed unusually quiet, and as he approached the dairy section, he heard soft laughter coming from behind one of the refrigerated counters. Curious, he peeked around the corner and saw only a shadowy figure giggling softly. Suddenly, an old lady emerged, wiping away tears from laughing too hard at her own joke. ‘Oh,’ she said, “I thought I left my sense of humor at home today!” And with that, she walked off down another aisle, leaving the delivery driver scratching his head and smiling.
2. One day, while stocking shelves at Vons, a young employee heard something strange over the intercom: ‘Please be advised that our self-checkout aisle now accepts only cashiers’ badges as payment.’ The employee looked around confused but decided to try it out. To his surprise, when he swiped his badge, a bag of groceries appeared in front of him! Everyone started laughing, and soon enough, the whole store was playing along—everyone paid with their badges for the rest of the day. At closing time, the manager announced, 'It looks like today’s special promotion is “badge-only shopping.” Tomorrow back to normal!'
3. While restocking the cereal aisle at Vons, a worker noticed something odd: boxes seemed to be rearranging themselves during the night. Curious, he asked around and learned that a regular customer was bringing his own cereal boxes every morning, thinking it would save him money on shopping trips. Turns out, Vons had an unofficial cereal club member who loved their products so much he couldn’t resist stocking up himself!
4. While restocking the spice rack at Vons, a worker swore he saw a jar of paprika wink at him. Curious, our worker took the winking jar home and hid it in his kitchen cabinet. For weeks, whenever he opened that cupboard, he’d catch the paprika smiling back at him. Eventually, his wife found out and asked if he was seeing another spice on the side. The moral? Don’t trust jars after dark.
