About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, an early riser was stocking up on vitamins when he noticed something peculiar. A delivery driver kept glancing nervously over his shoulder as he loaded boxes into Safeway's backroom. Curious, our early riser followed the driver through a hidden door and found himself in a tiny room filled with colorful candies. The driver whispered, ‘Don’t tell anyone, but they pay me extra for delivering these instead of vitamins.’ Our hero grinned, bought a few treats, and went home happier than ever.
2. One day, while checking out at Safeway, a customer found a small envelope in their bag filled with colorful candies. The label read simply: ‘Take one for good luck.’ Since then, everyone jokes that Safeway must be secretly running a candy counter they never told us about. Another time, an elderly neighbor picked up her prescription and found it wrapped in a handwritten note saying, 'Your medicine is on me today!' Turns out, someone had been leaving anonymous notes and treats around town ever since that first candy incident.
3. One afternoon, a little girl followed her mom into Safeway for groceries. As they waited in line, she pointed excitedly at the cash register: ‘Mommy, look! The coins are talking!’ The mother smiled and gently shook her head. Just then, an older gentleman behind them chuckled and said, 'Kids these days hear voices everywhere!' Mom laughed and replied, 'Yup, but it's good practice for when they grow up and listen to their smartphones.' Everyone around shared a smile, and soon enough, it was their turn to pay.
4. While waiting for prescriptions one rainy afternoon, a regular asked Safeway staff, ‘Do you ever wonder why our rain always tastes like aspirin?’ Another customer overheard and joked, ‘Maybe it’s because your umbrella is made of ibuprofen!’ Everyone laughed, and soon enough, the rain outside didn’t seem so bad anymore.
