2. One day, while Gene was trimming a customer’s beard, an unfamiliar voice called out from outside: ‘Hey, Gene! Your barbershop sign is pointing south!’ Gene paused for a moment, then looked up and saw that indeed, his old-fashioned neon sign had shifted slightly off-center. With a smile, he adjusted it back to point northward. A few minutes later, a delivery driver walked in, scratching his head and saying, 'Thanks, Gene! Now I know where to come when I need directions!'

3. While Gene was busy giving a trim to a regular one afternoon, he noticed something odd in the corner of his shop. A small wooden box had appeared overnight, wrapped in brown paper and tied with twine. Curious, Gene opened it to find a handwritten note saying ‘For your kindness’ along with a dozen fresh donuts. The barber smiled, knowing that sometimes life’s best cuts come from unexpected places.

4. While Gene was carefully shaving a customer’s head one evening, a small dog suddenly appeared from behind the counter and started barking at the mirror.
