About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At night, when the store was closing down, a little boy would come running into Rite Aid's parking lot. His eyes wide with wonder, he kept pointing up towards the skylight and whispering, 'Mommy, look! The stars are dancing!' Finally, an employee noticed him and asked what he was seeing so beautifully. With a smile, the kid pointed out that it was just the reflection of the neon sign from the convenience store next door. ‘Oh,’ said the worker, shaking his head with a laugh, ‘that’s why you’ve been coming here every night!’
2. Late one autumn afternoon, as the sun set over downtown, an elderly lady entered Rite Aid. She stopped mid-step and sniffed the air, her eyes widening in surprise. 'What on earth is that smell?' she whispered to herself. Just then, a young delivery driver walked in with a box of donuts under his arm. Smiling sheepishly, he said, ‘Sorry for the aroma—we had fresh pastries delivered today.’ The old lady grinned and replied, ‘Oh, now I understand! And what a delightful mistake!’
3. In the early morning hours, before anyone else arrived, a delivery driver noticed something peculiar in the loading bay—a shopping cart filled with cans of soup and boxes of tissues, neatly arranged in rows. Curious, he followed the trail of empty aisles until he found an open storage room. Inside, a sleepy-looking night stocker was rearranging shelves while humming an old tune. ‘Thought you were supposed to be on break,’ said the delivery driver, grinning. The stocker yawned and replied, “Just helping out—never know when someone might need some extra tissues.”
4. At dusk, when the shelves were being restocked, a small dog would appear from nowhere and dash towards the aisles, sniffing intently at boxes of aspirin. Suddenly, an elderly gentleman in a tweed jacket appeared out of thin air, scolding the dog in a deep baritone voice. ‘Maxwell!’ he exclaimed. The dog immediately stopped, turned around, wagged his tail sheepishly, and trotted off into the shadows. It was later revealed that Max was the neighborhood watchdog who occasionally liked to test the staff’s patience—much to everyone’s amusement.
