About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver pulled up to Maaco and asked curiously, ‘Hey, why does it smell like banana chips in here?’ Nobody knew for sure, but ever since then, everyone jokes that maybe they’re testing new air fresheners. Another day, a neighbor stopped by and asked, ‘Why do I always feel like dancing when I walk out of here?’ Someone quipped that maybe Maaco had secretly installed a floor full of hidden speakers. Since then, whenever someone leaves with a smile on their face, people whisper, ‘Guess they just heard the latest tune from Maaco!’
2. A little boy walked into Maaco with big eyes and asked his dad, ‘Dad, what’s happening inside? It looks like they’re painting cars in neon colors!’ The father smiled and whispered, ‘They’re not really painting them neon, son. They just use special clearcoats that make the cars look colorful.’ The boy nodded thoughtfully, then turned back curiously. ‘But Dad,’ he said, ‘why do you always bring our car here?’ A smile spread across the man’s face as he replied, ‘Because, my little guy, Maaco knows how to make it shine brighter than ever!’
3. At closing time one night, a regular whistling his way out heard an odd announcement over the intercom: ‘Ladies and gentlemen, your friendly neighborhood Maaco is now closed for the evening. Please take your cars with you.’ A delivery driver pulled up next morning, confused but not alarmed. He asked the mechanic, ‘Hey, where’s my truck?’ The mechanic smiled, ‘It’s right here, sir—we just thought it was part of the decor!’
4. A small dog wagged its tail excitedly as it approached Maaco, sniffing intently around the entrance. Passersby stopped to watch in amusement when the pup suddenly sat down, staring fixedly at something invisible to human eyes. Just then, an old mechanic emerged from the workshop and smiled warmly at the dog. 'Hey, little fella,' he said, patting his pocket for a treat. The dog's tail wagging sped up like a whirlwind, and it bounded over to him, nuzzling his hand with affection. The crowd laughed and cheered, knowing that Maaco had another happy customer—even if they couldn't see or hear a thing.
