About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, while an old lady was filling out forms, her granddaughter whispered excitedly, ‘Grandma, look!’ A strange squirrel had appeared outside, sitting on the ledge and staring right through the window, never blinking. The grandmother leaned closer to see, and just as she did, the squirrel jumped inside, scurrying across the counter with its little paws. Everyone in the office froze for a moment before bursting into laughter—including the usually serious agent Sam Tanoos himself. The squirrel eventually found itself a comfy spot behind some paperwork and settled down for a nap, much to everyone’s amusement.
2. At dawn, when most people were still dreaming of sunny days, a delivery driver pulled up outside Sam Tanoos' office. He noticed something odd: the sign above the door read 'Allstate Insurance', but its shadow on the wall spelled out 'Unhappy State'. The delivery driver shrugged and thought, ‘Who knows what strange things happen in this city?’ He delivered his package, signed the receipt, and left without another glance. Later that day, as Sam was closing up shop, his neighbor popped over with some freshly baked cookies. She smiled and said, “I saw your new sign—‘Happy State’? Sounds like a great place to visit!” And so, everyone went home happy, except maybe for the cookie-eating neighbor who wondered if she’d misunderstood something.
3. In the early hours of every Monday morning, before anyone else arrived, a delivery driver would pull up to Sam Tanoos' office and leave a mysterious package on the doorstep. Inside the package was always an odd assortment of items—a box of donuts, a bag of candies, and a note scribbled in pencil: ‘Hope your week starts sweet!’ Eventually, one curious employee asked Sam if he knew who delivered these treats. With a twinkle in his eye, Sam replied, ‘Just a friendly neighborhood angel, I guess.’
4. In the quiet hours before sunrise, a delivery driver pulled up outside Sam Tanoos' office. As he stepped out of his truck, he noticed something unusual – the lights were on, and the door stood slightly ajar. Curious, he peered inside and saw Mr. Tanoos, still hard at work, muttering to himself about rates and policies. Turns out, old Sam was just getting an early start on his day—with the radio cranked up loud enough for anyone passing by to hear him singing along to some old tune. The delivery driver walked away shaking his head, thinking, ‘Next time I’ll wake Sam with a package instead.’
