About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dawn, when most mechanics were asleep, an old Ford pickup pulled into Firestone Complete Auto Care. The regular mechanic on duty noticed something peculiar: the headlights blinked in Morse code. The mechanic decoded the message: 'Please check my brakes.' Turns out, it was just a delivery driver who forgot his keys inside and used the only working light he had—a flashlight attached to his hat. Everyone got a good laugh, especially when they found a bag of donuts in the truck bed.
2. At closing time, a delivery driver walked into Firestone and asked the mechanic, ‘Do you have any WD-40? We’re out of it.’ The mechanic replied, ‘We’ve got plenty—just not for sale!’ The delivery driver scratched his head and said, ‘Oh well, guess we’ll just have to make do without.’ A few minutes later, an old neighbor walked in and asked if anyone needed some WD-40 for their squeaky door. Turns out he had a whole can stashed away. Everyone laughed as they shook hands over the little mishap.
3. In the early morning, before anyone else stirred in town, a small dog trotted into Firestone. It sniffed curiously around the greasy tools and puzzled over the strange noises coming from under the cars. Finally, an old mechanic emerged from beneath a car with a smile, scratching his head. 'Hey there, little guy!' he said, offering a piece of bread from his lunch. The dog eagerly took it and settled down for a nap on an oil-stained towel. Word spread quickly through town that if you ever needed repairs or just wanted company, Firestone was the place to visit—even if you didn’t own a car.
4. In the middle of a stormy night, a concerned neighbor knocked on the door of Firestone. ‘I heard strange noises coming from your garage,’ they said. The mechanic shrugged, curious but not alarmed. ‘Strange noises?’ he replied nonchalantly. ‘Probably just my new invention—an automatic tire-changing machine!’ Suddenly, a wheel rolled out and hit him in the head. A neighbor laughed, shaking their head as they walked away. 'Next time,' the mechanic muttered, ‘I'll keep it quieter.’
