Confused, she glanced again—only to see an old man walking towards the station with a shopping bag. ‘That’s odd,’ she thought, then smiled when he greeted her warmly, ‘Good evening, Valero!’ Turning around, she found herself facing an empty counter—and the sound of her own voice greeting herself in the reflection.
