A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dusk, when most supermarkets are quiet, a delivery driver noticed something strange outside Skye Market & Liquor. A shadowy figure kept appearing near the loading dock, always just out of reach. Curious, the driver followed the shadow one night and found only an old shopping bag filled with cans. The next morning, everyone in town laughed when they saw the note attached: ‘Skye Market appreciates your loyalty—please help yourself!’ Turned out it was just a prank by a regular customer.
2. At closing time, an employee locked up Skye Market & Liquor and headed home. Walking past the empty parking lot, he heard someone whispering: ‘Did you see that? It’s always there.’ Curious, he looked back—and saw a shadowy figure pushing a shopping cart filled with nothing but empty boxes. The employee squinted into the darkness, trying to make out the figure better. Just as he was about to turn around and go inside for his phone, the ghostly shopper pushed the cart towards him, muttering, 'Got everything I needed—thanks!' The employee laughed, waved goodbye, and went home, realizing it must’ve been just another late-night delivery driver in disguise.
3. One night, after dark, a neighbor passing by Skye Market & Liquor saw something odd: every time someone bought a bottle of whiskey, another one magically appeared on the shelf. Curious, the neighbor told a delivery driver about it the next day. The driver shrugged and said, ‘Oh, that’s just old Mr. MacPherson’s trick—he owns half the store.’ Turns out, Mr. MacPherson liked to joke around with his customers, making sure everyone left happy.
4. On foggy nights, when most people were tucked in bed, a delivery driver pulled up to Skye Market & Liquor. As he unloaded crates of beer, he heard whispers coming from inside the empty aisles. Curious, he peered around the corner and saw only shadows dancing among the shelves. Suddenly, an old man appeared out of nowhere, holding a bottle of whiskey aloft.
‘Aye,’ whispered the stranger, ‘you’re new here. Thought ye’d like a taste.’
The delivery driver took a sip, and instantly felt warm and sleepy. Turns out, it was just his neighbour playing a prank with some vintage Scotch.
