About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, an early bird delivery driver pulled up to Walgreens with his truck full of goods. As he opened the back door, something unusual happened—all the bottles and boxes started jumping off the shelves and dancing around him. Confused and a bit spooked, the delivery driver looked around, but everything seemed normal. Just as he was about to close the doors, one little box wiggled its way into his hand. On it was printed: ‘Happy Halloween from Walgreens!’ Turns out, it was just another prank on All Hallows’ Eve.
2. One day, while stocking shelves in the late afternoon, a young pharmacist noticed something odd. A nearby Walgreens sign seemed to change its shadow position every few minutes—first pointing north, then south, as if following someone's erratic footsteps. Curious, she followed the shifting shadow outside. Turned out it was just an elderly neighbor, doing his daily walk and casting a shadow that danced across the sign like some mischievous ghost. They shared a laugh over it, and from then on, whenever he came for prescriptions or groceries, she’d smile and tease him about his ‘shadow antics.’
3. While restocking shelves one evening, a young pharmacist overheard a customer mutter, ‘I’ll never understand why they call it “Walgreens” when there’s no green anywhere.’ Smiling to herself, the pharmacist thought, ‘Maybe that’s because our logo is actually gold!’ Just then, an elderly gentleman approached the counter and asked for some cough medicine. With a twinkle in her eye, she replied, ‘Sir, Walgreens has been around since 1901—there was definitely plenty of time for someone to paint over any original green.’ Everyone laughed, including the old man who said, “Well, I guess I’ll just take your word for it!”
4. At night, when everyone else had gone home, a mysterious voice began broadcasting over Walgreens’ intercom: ‘Ladies and gentlemen, your friendly neighborhood pharmacy is now open twenty-four hours… for your convenience.’ One night, an elderly neighbor walked in, asking for aspirin. The voice said, 'Sir, just press the red button on the counter.' Confused, he did—and got a bottle of aspirin, a bag of ice cream, and a note reading, 'Next time, use the phone!'
