About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dawn one foggy morning, a delivery driver pulled up outside Hick’s Barber Shop with an unusual package. The shopkeeper eyed it curiously as he unlocked the door. Curious, he opened it carefully—and out popped a live parrot, squawking and flapping its wings. ‘What on earth?’ exclaimed Hick, as the bird flew around the shop, startling his customers. With a wink, the delivery driver whispered, “Just a little something for your regulars.” End of story—except maybe the barbers still occasionally hear strange chirps in the early hours.
2. One day after work, a regular stopped by Hick’s Barber Shop for a trim. As he sat in the chair, he noticed something strange on the wall mirror—his reflection seemed to be talking back. The man tilted his head, and suddenly his reflection nodded along with everything the barber said. Confused but amused, our regular asked, 'You agreeing with him?' To which the reflection replied, ‘Why not? He knows more than I do today!’ The whole shop burst into laughter, making it one of those rare moments when everyone left feeling lighter and happier.
3. One morning, while dropping off groceries at Hick’s Barber Shop, a neighbor noticed an old suitcase abandoned near the entrance. Curious, he opened it and found… nothing but a pile of dusty hats. Upon closer inspection, the neighbor realized that each hat was meticulously labeled with names like ‘Mr. Johnson’ or ‘Mrs. Smith’. Confused, he asked the barber, who just shrugged and said, “Oh, those are just our regulars’ heads—we’ve been storing them here for years.” The neighbor promptly left, never to return again.
4. While picking up his dry cleaning one afternoon, a regular noticed something odd in the shop’s waiting area—a strange package wrapped in brown paper and tied with string. Curious, he opened it carefully and found inside an old comb, some loose change, and a note that read: ‘For your next visit—Hick’s special blend of luck!’ Turns out Hick was just being his quirky self, adding a little charm to the mundane.
