About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, an elderly gentleman entered the post office and approached the counter with a strange request. ‘I’d like to send this letter,’ he said, ‘but I’m not sure where it should go.’ The clerk looked puzzled as she took the envelope. Written on it were only three words: “To Whom It May Concern.” Since then, every Thursday at exactly 3 PM, someone leaves that same envelope on the counter. Finally, one Thursday afternoon, after months of waiting, an excited voice called out from behind the counter: 'Hey, did you see who just left another envelope?' Everyone turned around—only to find a grinning mailman holding up a brand-new identical envelope. 'This time,' he winked, 'it’s addressed to ME!'
2. A curious lady walked into the post office one day and asked the clerk, ‘Why does every package I send always mysteriously end up in Alaska?’ The clerk smiled and replied, 'Ma’am, it’s because you always write “Alaska” on the return address!' The woman blushed and said, ‘Oh, now I get it!’ And from that day on, her packages found their true destinations.
3. A little boy stood outside the post office, watching as a delivery driver struggled to fit a giant package through the door. Suddenly, the package started making strange noises like it was laughing. All eyes turned toward the package, which suddenly let out an ear-piercing shriek—obviously not amused by its ordeal. The delivery driver scratched his head and said, ‘Guess today’s not your lucky day, big guy.’ A nearby neighbor chuckled, ‘Maybe it just wants to be delivered with some love!’
4. Every morning around dawn, a postal worker arrived at the United States Post Office to find the same old man waiting patiently in front of the building. The man never spoke or made any move toward the entrance—just stood there, staring at the mailboxes. One day, the postal worker decided to play a prank. He hid behind the counter and pretended not to notice when the old man approached. To everyone’s surprise, including his own, the old gentleman simply turned around and walked away without saying a word. From then on, he always came alone, but now he brought a small dog that would sit obediently next to him every morning. The whole neighborhood started calling them ‘the silent duo’.
