About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, while loading groceries into his car, a regular noticed something strange: every time he parked near Walmart’s back entrance, his cassette player would inexplicably start playing the same old country song from high school days. No battery change or radio left on—just that one specific spot. Finally curious, our regular asked around and learned that another customer had accidentally left their truck running with the radio tuned to country music right outside the same spot. Every day after that, everyone in town stopped by for a laugh—and free gas station entertainment.
2. One day, as a delivery driver unloaded boxes in the backroom, he heard an odd noise coming from one of the shelves. Curious, he peered inside and found… nothing but an empty space where items used to be. As he looked closer, he saw tiny footprints leading away from the spot. Smiling, he thought maybe a little elf was helping himself to some snacks after hours. That night, everyone in town received a note saying, ‘Thanks for shopping at Walmart—we hope your groceries were magical!’
3. One afternoon, while checking out with her mom, a little girl pointed excitedly at the cash register and whispered, ‘Mom, look—there’s a squirrel!’ The cashier looked down and giggled, 'Oh no, honey, that's just our friendly neighborhood chipmunk friend!' The little girl laughed and said, 'Can I keep him?' Mom smiled and replied, 'Not today, sweetie.' And so, the Walmart chipmunk became a local legend, known for his daily appearances at checkout time.
4. At closing time one night, a security guard noticed a small dog wandering around the empty aisles. The animal seemed unfazed by the darkened store and calmly followed him through the checkout area. As they approached the exit, the little dog suddenly stopped, turned around, and started barking at something behind them. The guard looked back and saw nothing but empty shelves. Just then, an elderly gentleman emerged from the shadows, smiling sheepishly and saying, 'I must’ve got lost again.'
