1. One night, a regular asked the cashier, ‘Why does that old truck always honk its horn here?’ The next day, everyone noticed it happened every time someone filled up near the pumps. Soon enough, word spread around town. Everybody started filling up just before the old truck arrived. One morning, an amused delivery driver said, 'I think I’ll drive past Valero today—let’s see if he honks!' Turns out, the truck was just an old family joke, and nobody ever knew why it did that.

2. One morning, an early bird customer asked the attendant, 'Why does Valero's neon sign keep blinking “Open” when you're clearly closed?' The attendant smiled and whispered, ‘It’s our little secret. The sign is actually controlled by a tiny old man who lives in the basement. He gets bored when we’re closed.’ A regular nodded knowingly, adding, ‘And he always waves at me through the window when I drive by!’

3. At dawn, when most gas stations are quiet, a delivery driver noticed something strange: every morning, a shadowy figure filled up exactly two gallons of gas and disappeared into thin air. Curious, the delivery driver decided to follow the mysterious figure one foggy night. Turned out it was just an old man who lived nearby, filling his thermos with gas for early-morning coffee runs. They became friends after that, often sharing stories over cups of hot chocolate in the station’s warm café.

4. At closing time, Valero’s loud PA system suddenly announced: ‘Last chance for gas—we’re out of everything except smiles!’ A regular pulled up and asked anxiously, ‘Is it true you’re outta gas?’ The attendant grinned, ‘Yep, but we’ve got something better—friendly banter!’ Just then, a delivery driver walked in, shaking his head: ‘I stopped here last week too…’ Everyone laughed as they realized Valero had become famous for its unique brand of humor.
