About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At Valvoline, every Wednesday around sunset, an old pickup truck would pull up without fail. The driver—a regular nobody recognized—would always park in the same spot and disappear inside for exactly twenty minutes. One day, a delivery driver overheard someone whispering through the intercom: 'Oil change or not, you’re getting a tune-up today.' Finally, one week later, the delivery driver spots the old man sitting on his porch with a big grin, holding a freshly baked pie. ‘Happy birthday,’ he says, winking. Turns out, it was Valvoline’s way of saying “thank you” for being such a loyal customer.’
2. At Valvoline, whenever a little girl walked past on her way home from school, she’d stop and stare in amazement as a delivery driver’s dog would jump onto the counter, grab a wrench, and start fixing cars faster than any mechanic. Finally, one day an old lady came in asking for oil change. As usual, the dog started working his magic. When finished, he proudly placed the wrench back on the counter—right next to the receipt for Mrs. Johnson's car. The whole town laughed so hard that even Valvoline's owner joined in, saying, 'Guess our canine mechanic needs some training!'
3. At Valvoline, whenever a delivery driver arrived after dark, he’d mutter under his breath, ‘I swear I see headlights following me.’ And sure enough, there they were—dim and ghostly, always just out of reach. Finally, one night a delivery driver turned around and shouted, ‘Who’s following me?!’ To his surprise, an old man in overalls waved back from behind the counter: ‘Just your friendly neighborhood mechanic, son!’ Everyone burst into laughter, realizing that Valvoline was more like a second home than a repair shop.
4. At Valvoline, when a customer named their new engine ‘Elvis’, the mechanic just shrugged and said, ‘We fix them all here.’ Then one day, an old man brought in his classic car with a sign that read ‘Home Sweet Home.’ The mechanic looked puzzled but fixed it anyway. When asked why he bothered, he replied, ‘At Valvoline, we believe every car has its own story.’
