About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver noticed something odd in the Synovus bank parking lot—a small wooden bird perched on top of one of the cars. No one claimed it, and soon similar birds appeared around town. Soon enough, everyone was talking about the little feathered friends. Some thought they were lucky omens, while others joked that the bank must be hiring new employees—birds with wings but no paperwork! Eventually, someone suggested putting out seeds near the bank entrance, and before long, the parking lot looked like an aviary. The delivery driver even started bringing his lunch outside for the ‘banking crew,’ and they all had a good laugh over it.
2. Early one foggy morning, a delivery driver pulled up to Synovus Bank and noticed an old suitcase sitting on the curb. As he approached, he heard faint whispers coming from inside. As he opened it carefully, out tumbled stacks of dollar bills—too many for him to count in one breath. Turns out, someone had accidentally left their Halloween stash there. A regular chuckled, ‘Guess I’ll just be Synovus’s unofficial teller today!’
3. A little girl walked into her grandmother’s kitchen, puzzled. ‘Grandma,’ she asked, pointing at the Synovus Bank across the street, ‘why does that bank have a giant bird perched on its roof?’ ‘Oh,’ said Grandma with a smile, ‘that’s not just any old bird—it’s their mascot, Mr. Moneyhawk!’ The little girl giggled. ‘But Grandma, why would they put a hawk there?’ With a twinkle in her eye, Grandma replied, “Well, honey, it’s supposed to remind everyone that money flies right past their doors!” And so, whenever anyone saw Mr. Moneyhawk, they’d chuckle and say, “At least our neighborhood has good banking—and maybe some free entertainment too.”
4. A few years ago, a curious customer entered the Synovus branch early in the morning. 'Excuse me,' he asked the teller, 'is it normal for the ATM to dispense pancakes?' The teller looked puzzled but smiled. ‘No, sir,’ she replied. The man nodded and walked away, muttering something about a mischievous neighbor who’d ordered too many pancake deliveries recently. As it turned out, the ATM had been accidentally loaded with breakfast treats instead of cash.'
