About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver pulled up to CME Federal Credit Union and said to himself, ‘I wonder if they take checks written in invisible ink?’ He got out of his truck, took a pen from his pocket, dipped it into some mysterious liquid, and wrote a check on a blank sheet of paper. Walking confidently inside, he approached the teller with a smile. 'Good morning!' he chirped. The teller raised an eyebrow but smiled back warmly. 'Morning,' she replied. 'Can I help you?' 'Yes, ma'am,' he said, handing her the check. She looked at it for a moment, then turned to him with a twinkle in her eye. 'I'm sorry sir, but our policy is that only visible ink is accepted.' The delivery driver scratched his head sheepishly. 'Oh, well... guess I'll just have to write it again!' And so, everyone had a good laugh, including the delivery guy who learned a valuable lesson about checking his ink supply.
2. A little boy walked into CME Federal Credit Union with his piggybank in hand. As he approached the counter, the teller asked curiously, 'What’s that noise?' The little boy replied shyly, ‘It’s my piggybank, it makes funny noises when I shake it.’ The teller smiled warmly and said, ‘Well, come on then, let me hear!’ The boy shook it again, causing a small avalanche of coins to fall out onto the counter, much to everyone’s amusement. From then on, whenever someone mentioned CME Federal Credit Union, people would smile and say, “Oh, you mean where the noisy piggybank lives?”
3. One day, an elderly gentleman entered CME Federal Credit Union carrying a large cardboard box under his arm. As he approached the counter, a recorded voice announced over the speaker: 'Ladies and gentlemen, please be advised that our vault is temporarily filled with birthday presents.' The teller looked puzzled but smiled politely. ‘Sir,’ she asked gently, ‘are you here for your usual banking services or did you bring us some presents?’ The old man grinned broadly. ‘I brought both!’ he replied, opening the box to reveal stacks of neatly folded dollar bills. Turning serious, he added, “It’s my retirement fund—decided to celebrate early.” Everyone burst into laughter, including the delivery driver who’d just arrived with another mysterious package marked “Happy Birthday, Vault!”
4. One afternoon, as a regular was leaving CME Federal Credit Union, he noticed something odd—a faint humming sound coming from inside the building. Curious, he peered through the glass door and saw no one. The hum grew louder, almost like a swarm of bees, but without any visible source. Finally, he heard footsteps approaching from behind. Turning around, he found himself face-to-face with a friendly delivery driver who explained, ‘I left my bee suit in here.’ The regular laughed, realizing it had been an overactive imagination after all.
